Objectives:
With the knowledge of the training course, the attendees can sit examinations to acquire the certificates based on the Law on Inland Waterway Navigation:
1. Vietnam Inland Waterway Steersman’s Certificate
2. The Second-class High-speed vessel operation’s Certificate
3. Basic Safety Certificate
4. The First-Class Mechanic Certificate
With 4 certificates, the attendees can navigate the vessels prescribed as follows:
· Gross tonnage of up to 15 tons
· Total main engine capacity of up to 50 HP on-board or 400 HP out-board*
· Capacity of between 5 and 12 passengers
· Velocity of over 30 km/h
*Note:
Total main engine capacity of up to 150 HP outboard or 50 HP on-board, the vessel owners don’t need to arrange the chief engineer if the captain holds the engine technician’s certificate (the First-Class Mechanic Certificate).
Total main engine capacity of between 150 HP outboard and 400 HP outboard, the vessel owners don’t need to arrange the chief engineer if the captain holds the corresponding chief engineer’s diploma (the First-Class Mechanic Certificate).
After 1 to 4 weeks since passing the exam, attendees will obtain 4 certificates of Ministry of Transportation
Conditions for attending the training course:
Be aged 18 years, or older but not older than 55 years for women, or 60 years for men.
Professional Staff:
Almost staffs are very experienced lecturers in training and education on inland waterway navigation, especially in collaborating with professional lecturers of University of Transport, Custom Vocational College HCMC, and Department of Science and Technology HCMC.
